From the remote highlands of Koyul, Changthang, to the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas, my journey has always been guided by a deep love for my homeland, its people, culture, and mountains.

My name is Jigmet Tandar, and I come from Koyul, a beautiful village in the Changthang region of Ladakh, India. Growing up in this remarkable land taught me the true meaning of simplicity, resilience, hospitality, and living in harmony with nature. The vast landscapes, high mountain passes, traditional Ladakhi lifestyle, and unique wildlife of this region have shaped who I am today.

My journey in the travel and tourism industry began in 2009, driven by a dream to share the extraordinary beauty of Ladakh with travellers from around the world. What started as a passion gradually grew into a lifelong commitment to showcasing the authentic spirit of the Himalayas.

As the founder of The Mighty Himalaya Trekking Company, based in Leh, Ladakh, my vision is to offer travellers more than just a holiday. I want every guest to experience the real Ladakh — its ancient traditions, warm-hearted communities, untouched landscapes, adventurous trekking routes, high-altitude lakes, remote villages, and extraordinary wildlife.

Over the years, my passion for the mountains has inspired me to explore and promote trekking, cultural journeys, motorbike adventures, jeep safaris, and winter wildlife experiences. I believe that the greatest travel experiences come from genuine connections with local people, respect for nature, and a willingness to discover places beyond the usual tourist routes.

For me, Ladakh is not simply a destination; it is my home, my identity, and my greatest inspiration. I feel a deep responsibility to promote responsible tourism, support local communities, preserve our cultural heritage, and help visitors understand the fragile beauty of our Himalayan environment.

Every traveller who visits Ladakh brings a new story, and every journey creates memories that last a lifetime. My greatest satisfaction comes from welcoming guests as friends and helping them discover the mountains and traditions that I have cherished since childhood.

Today, I continue to follow the same dream that inspired me in 2009: to share the magic of Ladakh with the world while keeping its authentic spirit alive for future generations.
